| User can’t
logon to the Nervus 3.x system during the Microsoft login or
Novell Network login. |
Check if
the username and password for the Microsoft or Novell Network is
right.
If so contact
the local network administrator for further help.
|
| User can
logon to the Nervus 3.x system but Nervus Study Room will not
launch. |
Has the
User changed his login name recently? If so then you have to
change it in the Nervus User Administration too.
If this is a
new user for the system. Check if the user has been added to
Nervus Users under Nervus User Administration. |
| The Windows
Installer pops up every time when Study Room, Recorder or Reader
program is executed (Nervus 3.0). |
Nervus has to be Uninstalled and Reinstalled locally again. If
the Nervus Uninstaller will not run, then use the utility
Microsoft Installer Clean Up. |
| I removed or
renamed the default installed Nervus folders. Now the Windows
Installer for Nervus runs when running the Study Room, Recorder
or Reader program. |
If the default installed folders are removed or renamed the
Windows Installer will start. This is because the Nervus
software thinks they are missing and creates them again.
Therefore do not remove or rename the default folders. |
| None of the
Nervus software will run. Error message displayed: You don’t
have license to run this program. |
Verify
that you can access the dongle or Network License with the help
of Nervus License Manager.
If not then
the dongle is faulty or no more Network License is available for
the moment. Contact Cephalon A/S for further help.
|
| The
computer runs in Bedside mode even when it is connected to the
network. Other computers can connect to the database. |
Do the following to
test the network connection and also verify that the Nervus
Database Connector Tool has been configured correctly if any
changes have been done to the network.
1.
Check that
no cable, hardware or configuration errors are present on the
system for the network card used.
2.
Verify the connection to
the Main database folder with help of the Explorer and the UNC
path used by ODBC.
3.
Verify the connection to
the SQL server that Host the Main and Config database.
If any of this
fails then contact your Network Administrator or Cephalon A/S
for further help |
|
Study Room present the following warning when running in Bedside
mode: One of the paths (Documents/Workarea/Workspace) defined in
the database is invalid or inaccessible. Use the Administration
Center to correct or check your network configuration |
Verify that the
Microsoft Loopback Adaptor has been installed and that it is
running.
Nervus use UNC path to
connect to the folders used by the program. This can only be
done when a network card has been installed.
If the above is
working alright then verify the UNC path entered in the Nervus
Administration Center for all 3 folders. The UNC paths should be
pointing to the folders in the local BedDB (Bedside) folder. |
|
Study Room present the following warning when connected to the
network: One of the paths (Documents/Workarea/Workspace) defined
in the database is invalid or inaccessible. Use the
Administration Center to correct or check your network
configuration. |
Verify that
you have network connection to all 3 folders and that the UNC
path is entered correct in the Nervus Administration Center for
all 3 network folders. |
| Can’t connect
to the Main database (MS Access) when connected to the network
on any Nervus system. |
Verify
that the network card is working alright and has been configured
properly.
Verify that the shared
network resource is running on the server.
Verify the database
connection with the Nervus Database Connector Tool.
If you still can’t
connect to the Main database then it is possible that the Main
database has crash.
Use the repair function
within the ODBC administration tool to repair the database. If
this doesn’t solve the error then contact Cephalon A/S for
further help.
|
| The MS Access
database crashes several times every day. |
Verify that Oplocks has been disabled on both the client and
server computer. |
| EEG file
hangs during transfer from the local PC to the server. |
Shoot down Study Room and reboot the PC. The transfer will
automatically continue when Study Room is launched again. |
| Repair and
Compact function are missing from the Nervus Service Center in
version 3.x. |
Use the Repair and Compact functions from the MS ODBC connection
administration instead. |
| EEG recording
isn’t moved from the recorder to the server database and file
area. Even after I have restarted the computer. |
The tblSite table in the Nervus database can be the reason for
this. Contact Cephalon A/S for further help. |
| Wrong
PatientID has been entered for a test and now the patient has 2
different database entries with test. |
Select
the test that has the wrong PatientID. Use the function
Re-assign patient to test from the Study Room Menu. Find the
right Patient entry where the PatientID is right and select it
and press OK.
Use
the Find Patient function to select and delete the Patient entry
that was wrong.
|
| The Archive
function doesn’t work. |
Verify
that the archive media has been correctly configured within the
Nervus Administration Center.
If
archiving directly to a MO-disk then you have to create a folder
on the MO-disk to where the archived files should be stored.
|
| MS Word is
installed but Nervus keep using the HTML Report. |
Disable HTML Reporting under Enviroment Variables in the Nervus
Administration Center. This will enable the MS Word report. |
| EEG files
with missing Patient info. |
Use the
function Lost Files/missing Files in the Nervus Service Center
to locate these files.
Use
the function Register in the Study Room program to transfer
these files into the database and file area.
|
| EEG test
can’t be deleted from the Study Room. |
Verify
the EEG file path under Test Properties. This is done by double
clicking the test.
Verify the existents
of the EEG file at the path location.
If no
file exists then create a rouge file with the file name used in
the Test Properties file path. Now the EEG test can be deleted.
|
| After
recording the red arrow keeps hanging in front of the Test even
after some time has gone. |
Shot down Study Room and restart the computer. The test will
there after automatically be registered by the Nervus software. |
| When Shooting
down the Study Room a Windows warning pops up saying: Closing
down program – Updatelocal.exe. The Program does not respond. |
This is because the Windows system tries to log off the user
before the update of the local databases has been finished.
Press Cancel. This will be fixed in version 3.2. |
|
The Recorder will not start. Error message displayed: Error
starting recording. Possible course, the test has already been
recorded. |
Verify that
the UNC paths are entered correctly within the Nervus
Administration Center. |
|
The Recorder will not start. The database connector tool pops up
and/or an error message saying: Error while connecting to
configuration database. |
Verify the
connection to the configuration database with the database
connector tool. |
|
The Recorder will not start when the system is running in
Bedside mode, but works fine when it is connected to the main
database.
Error message
displayed: Wrong parameter, followed by: Serious error has
occurred. Application will be shut down. |
The
configuration database in BedDB is possible corrupted. Exchange
the file with a new fresh file that can be found under
c:\Program Files\Taugagreining\Nervus 3.x\Database Init\Config\MDB\.
Remember to remove the write protection on the file.
Make sure that you have network connection to the main database
and configuration file. Run the UpdateLocal.EXE file from within
the Nervus 3.x folder. This will update the new configuration
file within the BedDB folder. |
|
The Recorder will not start and an Error message displayed is:
"The
Parameter is Incorrect”.
What
it really means is that when you installed the software, you did
not select any amplifier! |
Run the
settings editor from Study Room or from Start Program menu, go
to File menu, select Import, browse to the program directory
(for example, c:\program_files\taugagreining\nervus
3.2), then browse into database init directory, then
config subdirectory and select the
common.cfg file to import.
Alternatively you
reinstall the software and this time make sure you select one of
the amplifiers when prompted. |
|
The USB card gives acquisition overflow and/or disconnects from
the amplifier at random times |
Verify that
all cables are in working order and fitted correctly.
Verify the
power outlet from the USB card. Normally it is set to 5V but it
can be increased to 5.6V. This can solve the error and is by no
mean harmful for the hardware.
Verify
that there is a chip with a white label saying something as
“U3…” on the USB card, if not then it is fitted with a faulty
chip and has to be changed out. Contact Cephalon A/S for further
help.
|
|
No EEG is displayed during recording (Nervus 3.0). |
Verify that
Live EEG has been selected in the menu View. |
|
Amplifier ID mismatch is displayed when the Recorder is starting
up. |
Verify that
the amplifier used has been configured in the Nervus EEG system.
Use the Settings Editor from Study Room to verify this and also
to add the amplifier if it hasn’t been configured.
If
a change in amplifiers has been done and the new amplifier shall
be used as default in the future then remember to add and save
the amplifier to the protocol. This is done with the Settings
Editor from the Recorder. |
|
Amplifier disconnected is displayed when the Photic stimulator
is disconnected from the cable. |
If for some
reason the Photic stimulator has to be disconnected from the
Nervus EEG system. Disconnect it from the USB split cable end. |
|
The File Process Icon isn’t displayed in the System Tray when
Recording has been launched with Study Room. |
Verify the
folder connections within the Nervus Administration Center are
correct.
Verify that the Record area exists and is configured correctly
under Options within Recorder program. |
|
The File Process Icon isn’t displayed in the System Tray when
the Recorder program has been launched directly with the
Recorder Icon. |
The link
between the Recorder and the database is only established when
the Recorder is launched from Study Room. Therefore the recorded
EEG file isn’t moved automatically from the record area but has
to be manually Registered later. |
|
The Recorder generates Acquisition Overflow or Runs double speed
on one or more channels. |
This error
can be generated if you have an older amplifier connected to a
new USB board and that the jumper has been removed on the USB
board. Replace the jumper to solve the error. |
